I need more help with Arlene or Arlen

So, I've mentioned the fact that Arlen is a boys name.  My friend has suggested Arlenne.  What do you think?  How would you pronounce this?

What about Arlynn?  nms, but I think it would help with the pronunciation.  Something just doesn't look right w/ Arlenne.

Arlenne is better than Arlene but I concur that Arlynn would probably be better.

Eh....I dunno.  I think it would look better with a 'y' mixed in.

Arlyn or Arlynn...just my opinion though.

Arlenne is still Are-lean to me. The 'e' makes it a -ean sound.

If she wants Are-lyn, she should spell it Arlyn, Arlynn, Arlynne, or Arlin. Although I don't particulary love any of those- Arlynn is the least weird looking to me.

Or she can do Arlehn if she really wants the 'eh' sound. NMS but whatever.

Arlen i pronounce "AR-lehn" with the accent on the first syllable, whereas Arlenne (which is much better than the other alternatives including Arlynn IMO) i pronounce "ar-LEHN" with the accent on the second syllable.  Same for Arlynn except with an ih sound instead of eh.  Arlene is "ar-LEEN" with the accent on the second syllable.

Eileen, Caitlyn, Isla, and Eryn/Erin, Quinn, Arwen, & Gwyneth/Gwyn/Gwen.

If this is correct I would go with the classic Arlene. DH's aunt is an Arleen if you like that.
