Everything looked good at the ultrasound. Apparently fluid levels were on the "low side of normal" but still fine for now.
During the first 20 minutes of the NST the baby was sleeping, and thus "failing" so they busted out the buzzer to wake him/her up. You could actually see my entire belly jump! After that he/she woke up and went NUTS.
They're having me repeat both tests on Monday, and assuming they go well my induction is scheduled for next Thursday, so nearly 42 weeks.
The kicker- I've been having painful contractions, and as of early this morning they were PAAAAAINFUL, for quite a while now... and I've had no progress whatsoever in a week. I'm still at 3-ish cm.
During the 2 hours I was there I had the doctor and a nurse say "I don't think you'll make Monday's appointment, though".
I smiled very sweetly and said "That's what the midwife said about this appointment, too. See you next week!"
Sigh.
Re: I had my 41wk appt today
sorry hon...lots of labor dust and prayers for you!!!
The painful contractions sound great (so to speak)! I know how frustrating it is to go overdue but I also bet you'll go before your induction. Glad to hear baby is doing well!
My three little ones
Please forgive the dumb question - but what is "the buzzer"?
And - I feel for you. I really, really do. If she were done cooking, I would happily get the glorious babe out of my body STAT!
Oh Hula! You've just made such a nice home for LO that he/she is snug and happy and doesn't want to come out! I feel your pain, even though I'm not where you are yet. My doctor actually warned me last week after seeing the results of my NST that I'm carrying one happy baby who doesn't appear to want to come out.
Hang in there! I hope that baby decides it's time to come out tomorrow, if not this weekend! Fingers crossed for you!?
Ughghg. How annoying!!
Sending labor your dust your way!!! GL!!
They take a little vibrating thing that makes a buzzing noise and press it on your belly. It causes the vibrations in the amniotic fluid to startle the baby awake, apparently.
In my case, it scared the shiit out of my kid
