So, I was sceptical, but our childbirth instructor showed us this on the first night, and I have actually found it to be SO comfortable. Especially try it if you are a stomach sleeper.
I use a body pillow, but you can use two pillows for the same effect. So, lie on your side like normal, and put your top leg at almost a 90 degree angle over the leg pillow (keep the bottom leg straight down the bed, or nearly straight). Hug the pillow with your right arm, and shift your body over so that you are almost face down. You can put your bottom arm behind you (sounds uncomfortable, but remember that you are almost lying on your stomach). If you are using a body pillow, this keeps your belly supported, and since you are lying at kind of a 45 degree angle, you aren't putting pressure on your belly or the baby.
I can't sleep all night this way, but I've found that in the early morning hours when I have a tendency to roll onto my back, this really makes me sleep like a ROCK for about 3-4 hours. Hope it works for some of you!
Re: Interesting (but comfy) sleep position...
ditto!
I really liked this position up until about a month ago, now it puts a wierd pressure on my hips.
