1st Trimester

low-grade fever, anyone else?

Hey girls!  So for the past week (probably every other day) I have had a fever around 99-99.6 (the highest.)  I didn't know if this was common during the first trimester and wanted to know if anyone else experienced this.  I feel like I have been calling the doctor about everything and just wanted to see what anyone else had to offer.  I can tell right away when I have one because I feel different.  My first appointment isn't until July 13 so I will eventually call the doctor if this keeps up.

I have no idea if it's common but my temp has been running "hotter" in the mid 98's and I usually run in the high 97's so maybe you are just running a little hotter?

I'd take a Tylenol just to be sure, and Tylenol is perfectly safe. ?My doctor said that any temp higher than normal, I should take a Tylenol. ?

  • I guess I should pop a tylenol, no harm.  My husband says its because I have too much anxiety about the pregnancy and need to relax.  I told him I will relax when the baby turns 18, ha-ha!  He wasn't thrilled with that response.
  • My doctor told me that anything under 1 full degree is not a fever so if regular is 98.6 anything under 99.6 would not be a fever. Doctor also said that it is very common for women in 1st tri to run hotter (have slightly elevated temp) because of all the changing hormones. Personally I would not be popping a Tylenol since I don't like to use medications unless they are really needed, but you should speak to your dr. about it.
