Babies: 9 - 12 Months

One difficult thing about having 2 close in age...

My 2 boys are 21 months apart, so they are pretty much on the same sleep schedule, except the baby is taking 2 naps.  Lately the baby has been waking up early from naps (after30 min) and I KNOW he's still tired, but I can't let him cry/fuss a little bit b/c he wakes his brother.  Their afternoon nap is the only "break" or down time I get- my DH gets home after they go to bed.  So lately, they both go down, the baby sleeps a little bit, cries, I get him up, he gets tired a little bit later, he goes back to sleep and DS1 wakes up.  AAAHHHHH!!!!

What do you find to be challenging about having 2????

  • sometimes if they are overtired, they feed off eachother. so if aidan is crying, sawyer does a fake cry. if sawyer is crying, aidan will pretend to be upset. gaaah!! its only if they are so so tired, but its doubly annoying.

  • WE do not have 2 (yet) but DH has cousins on both sides of the family that has them literally 1 yr. apart. The first one turned 1 and baby#2 was born within days! Both couples said they would have never planned it this way. They said its so hard to coordinate both babies needs at such a close age. I guess they all just deal and get through the day as best as they can.

  • hmmm, mine don't wake each other up.  the baby is 7 months and rolls around in her crib and screams from time to time and it doesn't seem to bother my toddler.
