when you bottle feed...

...do you ever do it while DC is sitting in her bouncer or carseat, or do you always hold him/her while feeding?

Re: when you bottle feed...

  • Once in awhile I'll do it while he's in his stroller or carseat, but usually he's cuddled with me. I read something early on that said to always hold them while eating for attachment purposes, but sometimes that's not convenient. DS doesn't seem to care either way.

  • I've fed DD in her carseat while DH drives many a time. I ride with her for long car trips. Never tried with her in the bouncer though.

  • I almost always hold her.  With 2 other children, the time that I get to spend cuddling her is lessened and I know it doesn't last long before they won't cuddle!  That being said, I do on occasion feed her in the stroller or carseat.

  • I generally hold him, but if we are at a restuarant and he wants a bottle i might just give it to him in the high chair unless he is objecting.

  • We always hold her, but she takes a bottle about once a week and DH loves the chance to feed her (or she's being babysat by a grandma or auntie and they love the chance to cuddle her). I've fed her once in her carseat when she was little and having a meltdown. If you bottle feed all the time I can understand doing it once in a while not holding them.
  • He almost always takes the bottle himself.  He's really really strong, and feeding him the bottle isn't easy.
