I'm thinking about switching bottles to save on money etc. with the liners. ?But, I am wondering if the liners are the most convenient option. ?Any suggestions? ?Any bottles without liners that you love?
I've just been on an unsuccessful hunt to find new bottles. Even with the expandable drop-ins, mixing 8oz of formula in the bottle is not easy. I hate bottles with lots of pieces.
So far I've tried:
Avent: Loved these for my other 2, but the new bpa-free ones leak, bad.
Gerber: The nipple kept collapsing on DD, even the fast flow ones and the opening was so narrow, I kept spilling the powder over the side.
Nuby: DD could not suck anything out of them. The nipple doesn't leak, but I tried sucking on it and it's damn hard to get anything out of.
I'm trying Mam's next. The soothies look good, but the nipple is kind of weird.
We had a bunch of drop-ins liner coupons. They went on sale at Target and after coupon, the expandables were 5 cents more than the target brand. WAY worth it, imo. Luckily, I had enough coupons to last us pretty much until he'll done with the bottle.
The extra cost was still getting to me, too, though, but one thing DS likes to do is sortof drink from the bottle while he's sitting up, so the collapsible bag is critical to vertical drinking (if that makes sense). He can still get formula without tilting his head back.
Honestly, I think if he had to tilt his head back, he might just not bother to drink half the time, because as it is he is borderline more interested in his toys than the bottle.
We started off with drop ins and Born Free -- I never use the drop ins anymore! I love my born free bottles. Only one little extra piece (the vent disc), they are awesome bottles. Easy to clean, easy to carry, less plastic for the landfill.... and I think just as easy as drop ins in reality - just one little extra thing to clean! and I never have to worry about restocking the liners!

They are so convenient. ?Maybe I should just stick with what works. And my son likes to drink sitting up too... so maybe they are just the best bet.??
