I wouldn't mainly because of the strong chemicals that are in the air at salons. Some may not even allow a baby in for this reason I think. Could you just give yourself one at home while he's napping or after he's gone to bed?
I think it would be fine. The place I go to eaves the door open, so there's a good breeze through and C behaved just fine. All the ladies there oohed and aahed over him, which he loves.

I have gone a couple times. My mom and I have been going to the same ladies for years...they even got us a baby gift so I had to take him in to show off! However, the salon has two mani/pedi stations in a separate room. I just hold DS and even nursed him last time when he got fussy and they closed the door to the room for some privacy. I wouldn't take him to one of the strip mall type nail places where they are doing acrylics and stuff.
Re: pedicure with baby on lap?
regarding the fumes, they have a seperate spa room just for pedicures, so their really isn't any fume except for nail polish. Is that still bad?
I'm thinking since its nap time, he'd sleep. However, a part of me is saying this is a bad idea.
Self pedicure it is!
I've gone 2-3 times since lo was born. Twice he's slept and once he just nursed and played on my lap. He'll be 5 months next week.
As long as there is good ventilation don't worry about it!
