best inexpensive diapers?

So my cousin is having a baby today and she has nothing...nothing.  It is sad.  Anyway, my mom is taking her some stuff and wanted to know what diapers were the best bang for the buck.  We tried some cheaper ones early on, but now I can't remember which they were.

 TIA!

Re: best inexpensive diapers?

  • I have tried Target, Walmart, Huggies, Luvs and Pampers on my little boy...they're pricey but I love Pampers, they work best for us!  But, if I had to choose alternates I would say the Luvs and the Walmart brands were a close second.  Of the lower priced diapers - the Walmart brand worked best for us.  HTH!  All the best to your cousin and her new arrival!!

  • I like the publix brand diapers in size 3. That is the only size that I have tried and have worked out. I think I bought some that was a size 1 and didn't like them. It leaked and didn't fit well. I think every baby is shape different so you may want to try buying different ones for her to try. Walmart diapers were okay but they seemed smaller than the regular brand diapers to me.

  • We do the Costco diapers since we switched from Sam's to Costco. If your Mom has access to Costco she should go for those. You can get a huge box for $40. Before joining Costco, we were using the Pampers Baby Dry.

  • If any of you have a costco membership the Kirkland diapers are great and the size 1-2's are $29.99 for 216 diapers. I have been using these with ds all along and have never had any problems. I have used pampers baby dry and I hated these, Swaddlers are awesome but too $$ IMO. Huggies are pretty much the exact same thing as the costco diapers. I have also heard very good things about the walgreens brand diapers but have never tried them.

Look on babycheapskate.com they have a full diaper review on there that breaks it down to price per diaper and what diapers work best.

ditto Costo Kirklands Diapers. They are my favorite regardless of price!  But, I did just buy a pack of Target Diapers which were super cheap, like less than $6 for a pack of size 3's and so far so good.
  • We liked Publix diapers (before we started cloth) but only started using them in bigger size so I can't speak for newborn. I have a lot of friends who use Kirkland brand from Costco and love them.

  • My favorites are Luv's.
  • I loved Walgreens diapers...which are only a deal when they go on sale.  The BRU diapers are also good IMO, worked for us.  Costco diapers are the same as Huggies I think, they are GREAT quality, much better then any of the store generic I tried.....well except my Walgreens.
