T'was the day before baby...

T'was the day before baby,
and all through the house,
not a creature was stirring,
just me and my spouse,
well, except the little kicks of the baby on the way.

As we spend our last day together
 solely husband and wife,
we anticipate with excitement,
the joy that is about to be brought into our lives.
We count our blessings from God above,
and pray that as parents, our baby will know love. 

For we are ready, I think, don't you?
 for all the colors and toys, whether pink or blue.
You see, we "bit the bullet" and chose not to know,
if a boy or a girl, our way would show. 

Now others around us would like to know,
so that gifts and toys and clothes alike
can be bought for our new joy,
but momma and I decided to wait,
for life has few surprises so wonderful and just,
we felt it best to wait and see,
for only momma, baby, doctor and me.

Soon we will know joy unlike ever before
just how wonderful parenthood is
for now and evermore.
You see, having children is important to us
regardless of dirty diapers, or a little fuss.
For a child is a blessing, a miracle to be
for momma, and me.

Are we ready? I say we are.
Not long to go, and we will see
A beautiful baby, in our arms will be.
Boy or Girl, still yet to be known,
but it won't be long, and there will be three,
In our own little family.

Lord I just ask and pray,
that your plan for us is on its way.
For you blessed us with a gift.
Send your plan, right away.
E-mail, phone, or fax it does not matter,
just hurry up, and shine the way,
so that tomorrow we may see, the wonderful blessing
for my wife and me.

We pray in your name, and ask for your aid
as we prepare on this day,
for a life of blessings and a healthy baby on the way.

So tonight we shall sleep, without a cry or peep,
and cherish what is about to come,
yet know together we are one.
Let us be good parents, strong and patient.
For to be a parent is the most wonderful blessing of all.
