Hi ladies,
So I finally got myself a library card (we moved last year) and have vowed to return to reading for pleasure again! So here I am looking for some good recommendations.
I just finished The Memory Keepers daughter by Kim Edwards and B as in Beauty by Alberto Ferreras
Anyway, I would love to hear which books you're currently reading at the moment!
Thanks!
Re: What are you reading these days?
I just finished the Heather Wells series by Meg Cabot
Size 12 is not Fat
Size 14 is not Fat Either
Big Boned
They were entertaining and quick reads. Not very deep but good if you want something light. Meg Cabot is a good author for that type of material in general.
I just finished reading Nigella Lawson's How to Eat. Yep, I read cookbooks, I am odd that way.
Now I am reading Stahl's Essential Psychopharmacology as a quick review. Nice light reading at bedtime - no wonder I fall asleep so quickly!
A few good ones I've read lately:
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
Time Traveler's Wife
A Thousand Splendid Suns
Mommy to DD1 (June 2007), DS (January 2010), DD2 (July 2012), and The Next One (EDD 3/31/2015)
I'm currently reading "All Aunt Hagar's Children" by Edward P. Jones and it's pretty good.
And I wanted to say that "The Time Traveler's Wife" mentioned by pp is my favorite book. I know it sound weird but I'm in love with Audrey Niffenegger's books (she has a couple of illustrated novels that are pretty cool and is due to publish a new book this fall).
Reading? What's that?
My reading time has decreased drastically, but I do get a few minutes in each day. I'm reading Small Wonder by Barbara Kingsolver now (started it while I was pregnant). I've also decided to do more books on cds during my commute because I'm not getting in as much reading time as I'd like, so I have Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by the same author waiting for me at the library. I love interlibrary loan!
