What else have you found out about the army reservist chick who had her house vandalized?

Re: emilykristine

  • We went there Saturday. It was awful. The news kept saying there were burn marks on the wall. It was actually poop.

One room was so full of papers and pictures that it was knee and in some places thigh deep. You could not get in the door. 4 of us had the whole room cleaned up in 2 hours.

About the phone calls I made...

We need to wait until insurance is done. They told us to stop taking stuff out of the house. We were loading it in a pod for her. The insurance adjustor told us she had to inventory everything. She ended up saying that most of it was going to be trashed. It looks like her insurance is going to pay for most of it. I got one guy to take care of her deductible. I asked the woman (who this happened to) if she was able to cover her deductible. She said she really wasn't worried about it. She said if anyone wanted to donate, that there were many oranizations that help the soldiers and domestic abuse victims. They need it more than she does. That had me in tears. Here I am standing in her house with paint and sh!t everywhere and she's worried about the soldiers.

The detectives think they know who did it. Some kids were bragging but their mom's are not letting them talk. Nice huh?

A used condom was found in the bathroom while we were there. It doesn't look like the cops did a very good job going through the place.

Anyway, Walgreen's, Lowes, and Room's to go are willing to help when we know more. Also, one of the churches I called is willing to take care of anything the insurance company doesn't.

Oh, and she had a contractor there on Saturday just waiting for the place to be emptied so he can start ripping stuff out of there. They think it will take 6 weeks before the place is back to normal.

Shouldn't be hard to find out who did this I guess.  At least the police have a lead.

I would love to put together a care package for her.  Can you find out what she needs.  Picture frames, little chachki's, etc...anything.

  • It may take a little while. Right now she just has no clue what is still good. I'm going to stay in touch with her, but I'll check in with her in a couple of weeks to see if she's thought of anything she needs. Do you want me to let you know when I do find out something?

She went back to Virginia to get back to work. Crazy, but she kept saying how she has a few soldiers that are going through PTSD and will only talk to her. She has a friend here who is taking care of the house issues.
