This is exactly what I was wondering.  Why the heck does a child that young get ANY alone time with the puppy (especially a puppy that young)? It should all be supervised IMO.

Yes, my parents didn't even let me near the puppies when they were that young. Dad would always tell us NOT to touch the puppies or their mother would stop caring for them. We, watched from afar...

Not that I plan to have week old puppies in the house OR even leave a child unsupervised with them, but I'm making a mental note to buy the childproof thingies for toilet seats.

Oh wait, that was already on my list.

I think that puppy needs to be taken away from them, they obviously have no idea how to care for a puppy. I would not leave my 4 year old unattended with my grown up dogs, let alone a week old puppy.
