Tax exemptions question!

HI,

 I am going back to work for the first time since our boys were born in a couple weeks. My husband is already claiming all of us as dependents. Would I claim 3 dependents also? Or.. 4 with DH too? Or none.. or just me?

so confused! I live in MI if it matters. thanks!

    It sounds to me like you are confusing the withholdings on your W4 & the number of dependents claimed on your tax return.  To determine the number of withholdings both of you should take on your W4s (which impacts the amount of tax taken out of your paychecks) go to the W4 calculator on the IRS website. 

    ETA -- the number of kids you have does not necessarily correlate to the number of withholdings you should take.  It has more to do with other tax liabilities and exemptions.  As an example, we own a house & have 2 kids -- DH's paycheck is set up with 6 withholding allowances & mine is set up with 2.
