The job I interviewed for weeks back still has not made a decision. They told me yesterday they hope to by the end of this week (although they have been saying this the last few weeks).

In the meantime I have been applying for other things, including a evnts position at the hotel where I did my internship. The HR manager is a girl I worked with when I was there and she called me Friday to say that that position was filled but would I come back and work the front desk.

The way things are, I need a job, but would prefer the first one. Is it really unprofessional for me to ask her to wait at least until Monday for me to decide on going back to the hotel?

I would tell her you need a few days to evaluate your options or think it over.

I think it's OK to ask for some time to think about it, but I wouldn't get too specific (i.e. waiting for something better)
