She and FIL came over last night for a vist. They haven't seen me in a month and first thing MIL says is "Awww, you're getting chubby!"

I just said The baby is growing well! WTF!?!?! Who says that to another woman. I was thinking, "Well, you're looking really old today!"

Like I want to hear that I'm getting chubby! I have a nice bump going but seriously, I"m not out of control by any means.

When I was pg with DD, my FIL said I was getting so fat.  Nice, huh?  Well, we haven't spoken to him in 4 years now.  A$$hole

I'm so sorry. I seriously don't know why people think they can say whatever they want to a pregnant woman.

i swear, people forget all decorum when talking to pregnant women.

my FIL saw me sunday at lunch, and greeted me by saying "hey, fatty!," then chuckling.

i wanted to say "hey, a**hole, i'm still wearing my size 6 pre-preggo pants.  however, i can barely get my arms around your gut to give you a hug!"

Say something when these comments come up, like "that was rude." Most people are caught off guard and quickly back peddle.

One lady in my office building said I looked larger than when she saw me 2 days before. I flat out told her that discussing my weight or size was inappropiate and unprofessional. She continued by saying that she only ment that I had gotten bigger. Yeah, I turned her in for those comments. (She had been saying things for weeks.)

My MIL has had some crappy comments herself.  She will always point out to me stuff like, "Wow that baby is really showing" or "I think it is great you are trying to watch how much baby weight you gain because you will never be able to get it off."  Yeah just because you didn't get it off and it is 27 years later doesn't mean everyone is lazy like you!!!! 

 Also very soon after we told her we were expecting she said to me,"I just think pregnant bellies are disgusting looking and I hate it when people wear those tight shirts to show off their belly."  Yeah I feel really comfortable getting bigger around her!

I know how you feel, for the past 2 weeks my MIL keeps on telling me that some of my pre pregnancy dresses are way to small and that I need to wear something bigger that does not show my bump as much and that I've been getting bigger mostly in my stomach, so I told her that it's not completely true that I've been getting bigger in other places too and then she immediatelly said that my butt what always huge! Also, she keeps on saying that we'll have a boy knowing that I really want to have a girl.

I was so mad at her for saying this, so I had to complain to DH and then later the same evening I heard him saying that she should stop telling me that I am fat and that I was fat before (I am 5'8 and was 140-145 lbs before pregnancy) and that he loves me the way I am. As for the kid she should stop saying that we'll have a boy and that whoever it will be as long as it's healthy that's all that's importaint to us.

Seriously, WTF? Why do people think it is ok to make comments like this to pregnant women? My DH's grandma called me chubby this weekend too!
