2nd Trimester

Where exactly are you stuffing these frozen diapers?

Inside your mesh panties from the hospital?

I can't imagine stuffing a diaper into my current panties...LOL

And I'm not just going to sit on a frozen diaper all willy-nilly without something to keep it in place. Tongue Tied

  • Haha, (I laugh with love).  I had no idea after the delivery of my first that I would be begging for grandma panties and ice packs, lol.  They give these weird net panties (atleast my hosp. did) and then they gave me an ice pack.  Doc sent me home with a few extra pair and I used those until the need for ice had passed Smile The things they DON'T tell you about post partum that they really really should...
  • Not sure, but if they made me feel better I'd duct tape them into my underwear if I needed to!

  • I'm totally going to steal all the mesh panties I can get my hands on then...LOL

  • The mesh panties ROCK.  Take as many pairs as you can.

But yes, for the first few hours post-birth you just sit on your lovely ice pack and bleeding mat.

  • I can see it now....waddling to the bathroom with a diaper stuffed between my legs and blood dripping everywhere as I go.

    Awesome.

I agree, this is my first, but I've heard about the ice packs and agree that this should be a little more widely advertised b/c it's not something I ever knew about before!

Also, your son is precious, those eyes are Gorgeous!  Lock up your daughters is right!!

yeah i'm a little scared too now! That is exactly why I don't want to take childbirth classes!  I don't want to know what a ripped crotch looks like!!...LOL!

  • Can't you just buy big pads and freeze them? I won't be wearing diapers, lol.

  • trust me, you'll love these ice packs.. and they really aren't as bad as they sound. ?They aren't as big and bulky as diapers (omg, I almost put diapees b/c that's what Layla calls them, LOL). ?They really just reminded me of regular maxi pads from back in the day.. you know before we all tried tampons, lol.?

I was quickly telling the nurse when I needed more ice packs if mine were running out. ?LOL.. I was not going to run out of those!?

    ?

  • Surprise  Agggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Ooooh my.  Big Smile  As a woman who has already had one baby and is no longer modest in anyway, this is hilarious to me!  Hahahaha.  I didn't know until after I delivered and I didn't care once I knew.  No one knows or thinks about what you're sitting on but you (unless your SO like my amazing husband is willing to help you compile your 'diaper' and help you get around {because you WILL need help}).  It's sort of a bandaid packet for your parts!  Mesh undies, then ice pack, then pad, then tucks (soothing pads for the pain/burning/episiotomy)  You might feel uncomfortable when you first sit, but trust me, it is necessary and you will be SO thankful for your 'diaper'.  Don't worry about it.  You'll be to blindsighted with baby love and breastfeeding (which freaked me out more than the diaper) and people gushing over your baby.  Smile  Don't be scared!

    Thanks :)

  • The diaper ice packs are great, not only are they cool and soothing but also act as a pad.  You can also make homemade ones out of newborn diapers and crushed ice.

  • The frozen depends are a pure Godsend when the time comes.  Trust me, the test of your loving, supportive husband is not actual childbirth- it's the week(s) after childbirth when you are recovering.  Nothing says true love like helping you change your underpants, sheets, and pj pants when they get blood/baby poo (that came out the top of the onesie)/breast milk/spit up/general body gunk on them.  Ahhhh, can't wait for my 2nd child to get here....  Big Smile

This. Trust me, the last thing you will care about is the fact that you have a frozen diaper/pad in your mesh panties post-birth! It's awesome and helps so much.

  • I'm scared but I'll remember this and ask for lots of ice packs!!
