TTC after 35

QE2-dhea

Hi hon-I did not have this tested at Cornell. I do not know what they test for cd2- I am just assuming its e2, fsh, the std. I had the saliva adrenal panel done by my TCM "dr" b/c I wanted to try dhea but did not want to take it blindly. So at least now I know that my ovulation/poor egg issues etc all may have a cause which is a huge weight off my shoulders. I pick up my supplements tomorrow.

How are you doing? p4 s/e like crazy?

Can you tell me a little more about DHEA and why you are taking it?  What is the saliva adrenal panel?  I have not heard about this so I am just curious.  Hope you don't mind me butting in.

  • Sure I will try not to write a book! I was labelled as a poor responder at my old clinic-DOR, the whole 9 yds. I am 33 so this was a huge shock to me. (QE2 and I were at the same clinic and had very similar exp with a cancelled IVF, new protocol, got to retrieval, etc.) I had a chemical preg. and decided to switch clinics b/c old RE thought I should use a donor. So I also see an acupuncturist who does chinese/alternative med., and we were discussing adernal issues, hence why some women get pregnant after using dhea. So lo and behold my level of dhea is low. It may explain my poor responder status. Depending on your age, you may want to try dhea without the tests, but since I am on on the younger side I wanted the test first. Apparently the saliva test is more accurate than bloodwork.

  • Very interesting. Thanks for the info.  I will look into this a little more with some google research.

    I hope it helps you!

  • There is a lot out there to say dhea is bunk, but I think if you have low levels it only makes sense to supplement.
