Did anyone get a yeast infection after loss?

As if this rollercoaster hasn't been super fun already, to add insult to injury, now I think I'm dealing with a friggin yeast infection. I'm guessing this is probably caused by all the hormonal changes and everything the body goes through after the loss?

Did anyone else get one? What was your doctor able to prescribe? (I just figure if I can't use tampons, would I be able to use internal yeast infection meds??)

oh nooo! i'm sorry to hear that. my douche-y oncall dr put me on oral antibiotics because i was having pain in my uterus and he thought it was a bladder infection. it did not help the pain BUT it did help prevent me from getting a UTI or yeast infection. so call your doc and let her/him know what's going on... i'm sure they can do something for you.

I got one while I was pg with Grace.  Then afterwards it came back..  My first YI ever in my life!  Yah it was fun..not!  I agree with pp, call your dr to get something to get rid of it....

Yes - I just got one last week.  I've already had my first AF, and I'm onto my second one this week, but yes, I did get one.  It's my first in a very long time.  No fun.

If you have had antibiotics lately you are at a higher risk for a YI. I was on antibiotics after the delivery and I got a bowel infenction instead. My doctor told me that sometimes antibiotics kill the good bacteria in your bowel, just like they do with a yeast infection too. I took probiotics (you can buy them at a health food store) and they helped it go away. I hope that helps!
