I was going to call my pedi today but thought I would ask here first in case anyone knows. We have decided to wean DD off of the bottle and just give her milk in a sippy cup. She has not taken well to this.
So far, whereas she was drinking up to 16 ounces a day of milk(from what I read online this is about right for her age), she now only drinks about 2-3 and that is after I bought her a soft tipped sippy cup. My DH is upset thinking she is not getting enough calcium and other vitamins and such that are in the milk.
Anyway, should she be taking a supplement like a vitamin or something or is this perfectly okay? Thanks.
Re: calcium intake question
Do you give her yogurt and cheese? Both of those have calcium in them it doesn't have to be all from milk.
Also, I can't get DD to drink water from a standard sippy cup but I can get her to drink it from a straw sippy (take n toss). Maybe those cups are worth a shot.
