Re: Monday check-in!

  • 1. 5 months something pp

    2. This, by far.  Chicken Tortilla Soup.

    3. I'm pumping, and then I'm leaving for work at 8!  A is making this far too easy.  He slept 8 hours last night (9 between feeds), woke up at 6:10, we fed him and he went right back to sleep to let his Mommy shower, pump, eat breakfast, and get ready for work.  He's now slept 8 hours 2 nights in a row.

  • 1. 39w5d pregnant - only "two days" to go. Stick out tongue Feel really awesome, actually. No complaints whatsoever...I seem to have gotten over the 3rd tri hump.

    2.  Betty Crocker "Thai" chicken thighs. So easy, so yummy. Looking for more ideas for this week, though!

    3. Dear NDbaby,

Mommy loves you and wants to meet you soon! Please enter the world so we can snuggle and I can smell your head. Also, the sooner you come the fewer vacation days I have to use right now.

    Love,
    Mommy

  • 1. Not really sure, but I feel fine.  :)

    2. We don't use our crockpot, but this site has some cool recipes:

    https://www.natalies-recipes.com/website/CrockPot.aspx

    3. I love my little boy so much - he is at such a sweet age.  He's busy of course, and into everything, but he's so sensitive and wants to snuggle and hug and kiss all the time.  It makes me hope he never grows up.  Plus he tells me all the time that "Mommy and Jack are bessssssssssst frennns [friends]."  How can you not love that?

  • 1. Where and how? CD 28. Crampy and waiting for AF to show up. BLECH

    2. LIP or share your fave crock pot recipe... Don't have one, but I'm excited to see what other people post

    3. Post a random thought or open letter! Dear Cramps. Please go away. I have a lot to do today and you put me in a foul mood. Love, Me.
  • 1. 20w0d--half way there!! Feeling yucky. Having chest pains, non-related (at least I think) to my heart issue and they are irritating and well hurt!

    2. Baby Back Ribs, whatever size slab you like, onion flakes, sweet baby ray's bbq sauce and about 1 cup of water. Cook on low for 8 hrs. Throw in the grill for about 5 minutes each side. YUM.

    3. I really want to be a SAHM and unfortunately we can't afford it. We pay out almost $500 a month in student loans which compared to some isn't that much, but if we didn't have to pay those damn loans, it would make cutting the budget easier! I don't even use my degrees and my parents paid for my undergrad degree!! I do think that higher education is important, but right now, I'm thinking it was a waste and I can do my job without my degree!

  • 1. CD 2.  Feeling great!

    2.  BBQ in the crock pot.  Get your pork, add in a can of beer, and a bottle of your fave BBQ sauce and let it cook.  It's the juiciest, yummiest stuff ever.

    3.  I still cry almost once a night thanking God for allowing me to have the opportunity to be Rose's mom.  I just can't believe I've been this lucky to have her kiss me and lay her little head on my shoulder and rub my leg to let me know she loves me.  I never really felt that amount of thankfulness for anything until she came along.  She's just an absolute blessing.

  • 1.  Almost 5 months PP

    2.  Pretty much any version of chili.

    3.  I hate working nights.  I'm thankful I could go back at part time and only work 2 a week, but I just hate nights.  I feel like my entire schedule is screwed up and I'm over it.

  • 1. Where and how?  37w6d....for some reason I ALWAYS hit the 2 instead of the 3 and then think "Wow, I really don't want to be back 10 weeks ago!"

    2. LIP or share your fave crock pot recipe...  I usually just throw stuff into the crock pot, no real recipe.

    3. Post a random thought or open letter!  I just called the phone nurses at my obgyn...having reduced fetal movements all weekend so I thought I should call and check since my next appointment isn't until Thursday.

  • 1. Where and how?

cd 14.  feel good today, just tired

    2. LIP or share your fave crock pot recipe...

i've been making pulled pork in the crock pot a lot lately.

    • 1 pork roast (3.5 - 4 pounds for 5 of us)
    • rub with seasoned salt, garlic powder, black pepper
    • cook in crock pot on low 7 - 8 hours
    • when done, pull pork apart with 2 forks, place back into crock pot and dump a bottle of BBQ over the top
    • heat through and serve

    3. Post a random thought or open letter!

my kid has been so loving this weekend, randomly giving hugs, and dropping "i love yous". i said to him last night, dude, you've been awfully cuddly lately. his response was because he was "bored". dude, that's not boredom -- that's you getting ready to leave the nest.   ::heart him::  oh and he spent the entire weekend at home.  i mean really, how many 18 year olds are okay with hanging out with the 'rents for the ENTIRE weekend??

  • 1. 33w 2d and feeling pretty good!

    2. No specific recipes come to mind, most of the time I'll use it to prepare some kind of meat and season it with whatever I think it needs. It is never exactly the same, but it is always good!

    3. I just called to quit my job. Turns out DH's insurance hasn't been covering me since February, when I started working part-time. I dropped my own insurance then because it was going to be about $160 a month just for me, just for medical. Well, his company apparently won't cover me if I am offered insurance through my employer and turn it down. Since I was only planning on working part-time after the baby comes (and still on the fence about even that, might I add) it would so not be worth it for me to even bother with it between paying for insurance and daycare.

  • 1.  CD 28, AF should be showing up this week.  Blerh.

    2.  Um, I haven't cooked a night time meal in probably three years (minus mac n cheese and pizza in the oven) so I'm no help.

    3.  I had to laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh at my SIL the other day.  She and my brother just had their little girl, Rosemary almost two weeks ago and had no idea what they were getting in to.  She said, "Our world is now ruled by this 6lb baby girl, when she wants to eat, when she wants to sleep, when she wants to be awake, we just do it.  It makes it impossible to plan anything!"  It made me laugh so much because no matter what people try to tell you when you're pregnant, nothing in the world actually prepares you for it.

Oh, and Marion now says "mama" every time she sees me.  And crawls around the house following me, saying "mamamamamamamammamamama" if I walk to fast and get away from her.

  • Lauren, I can't believe you haven't had Ella yet!  I thought for sure I'd log on today and there would be an annoucement post!

    1.  CD18.  Feeling pretty good.

    2.  I'll be glad to see some of the posts, I don't use mine very much!  I made this a few weeks ago and it was pretty tasty!

    3.  Dear Body:

I am so tired of you.  I have been trying to loose some of you and instead I I got more!  I don't understand what is going on.  I cannot work out or excercise until I get my vertigo under control, so dieting is the only thing I can do right now.  Please let some of yourself go away this week.

Thanks for making my self esteem worse than what it was,

    Tired of being fat

::heart melts::  That is SO sweet.

  • Also, this week is our NINO point.  Nine in, nine out.  It makes me very very sad to think that she's there already.
  • 1. last wk of pills, AF in about 3 days. feeling tired after a busy weekend ...

    2. I don't know about my fave since I haven't made too many, but we made this pulled pork recipe last week and it was delish. (and so easy)

  • 1.  4.5 months pp and feel okay.  Starting to think about weaning away from pumping at work with some very mixed feelings.

    2.  I have a couple but most recently, it is swiss chicken casseroe...super easy.  Put 3-4 chicken breasts in the bottom of the crock pot.  Layer with 6ish slices of swiss cheese.  Pour a can of cream of mushroom soup (healthy request is fine) over the cheese/chicken.  Top with 2 cups of dry seasoned stuffing.  Drizzle a couple of tablespoons of melted butter over the stuffing and cook on low for 8 hours or so.  The stuffing gets all crispy and it is so yummy!

    3.  Dear bosses boss, I understand that deadlines come up.  But last week was ridiculous and the fast deadlines were due to your lack of planning...when we work that fast, we are bound to make mistakes, so when we find them this week, please keep that in mind.  Oh, and a break from the crazy deadlines would be nice.  thanks.

  • 1. Where and how? 6 days PP.  Feeling pretty good!  A little more sore now that I'm home and moving around, but over all pretty good.  Sleepy :)

    2. LIP or share your fave crock pot recipe... I don't have one, I need to get one though!

    3. Post a random thought or open letter! I'm so happy Ella decided to go 5 hours in between eating last night :)

    2. ?McCormick's have some seasoning pouches for the crockpot that are pretty good. ?I've done the chicken & pulled pork ones before.

    3. ?Is it really Monday? ?I feel like it's Tuesday!?

  • 1. Where and how? 32w6d and doing great.  I love being pregnant.  Remind me of that in about 5-6 weeks when I start b!tching about it =)

    2. LIP or share your fave crock pot recipe... Pulled chicken or pulled pork.  Just the same as everyone else posted...cook the meat on low for 6-8 hours with a little bit of water and some salt and pepper.  Pull apart with forks and dump your favorite BBQ sauce over it.  Also good to keep some of it without BBQ sauce and use for pulled pork tacos/nachos (add enchilada sauce or salsa).

    3. Post a random thought or open letter! Again, I know I am way behind on the Twilight bandwagon but I have had a *sexy* dream about Edward three nights in a row.  I finished the 4th book Saturday night, reread my favorite parts of the 3rd book yesterday and I am going to start #4 again today.  That is sad but I'm ok with it.

  • 1.  CD 36.  Tested this weekend and this morning with all BFN's.  I for sure thought I was going to have a BFP.  Funny though bc my BFP on Friday was definitely not the evap line either (was blue not white).  Calling the OB to see if they want to draw a beta or just have me wait it out.  So - on to the next cycle for us.

    2.  Pot roast - Put a chuck roast in the crock pot.  Mix 2 cans of cream of mushroom with a packet of Lipton's Onion Soup Mix.  Pour over top of roast.  Cook on low for 8-10 hours.  The soup/mix combo makes a sort of gravy and the roast is fork tender.  So yummy.

    3.  Seriously frustrated and confused over the testing.  Now I'm just ready to move on to the next cycle.  Oh - and I wish the growing pains would stop hurting my daughter in the middle of the night.  Seriously - I'm not happy about her being up for an hour and a half in the middle of the night every night - and - I just feel so bad for her.

  • 1. 28w4d, feeling good still, other than an elbow or knee that is causing me some pain as it is irritating the same spot.

    2. I don't have one... but seems like everyone like pulled pork... guess I need to try that one.

    3. Dear strangers,  don't you know it's not polite or appropriate to assume I'm having twins when you ask my due date.  I am not that big.... obviously you lack observation skills or you would see that I am 5'2" and this baby has no where to go but out.  Please keep your comments to yourself.

    3. Post a random thought or open letter! My cousin had her daughter Saturday (on my DH's birthday)! Her name is Brynn Rose (8lb 7oz, 21.5 inches), and I'm excited to meet her next month!

That sucks Melissa!  I'm sorry!  :(

  • 1. 15w6d.  Feeling pretty good.

    2. My roast and vegetable recipe is to take a beef roast and put it in first then layer carrots on top of the roast and potatoes on top of the carrots.  Then pour beef broth over everything and put the crock pot on low for 8-10 hours.  Everything stays moist and tender and good leftovers for several days.

     3. Little Baby P, your momma would be so happy if you start kicking her soon.  Many of the ways she knew you were doing ok are starting to disappear so those little love taps would be very welcome anytime.

  • Melissa, I'm so sorry!  I hope that you get some conclusive answers soon!

    1. Where and how? CD 6, feel fine.

    2. LIP or share your fave crock pot recipe...Ditto most of the easy ones here.  I kind of forget about my crock pot in the summer, so I'm definitely going to pull it out tomorrow for an easy dinner!

    3. Post a random thought or open letter! One of my best friends is getting married this weekend and I just can't wait!  My friends are kind of scattered around the country, so this will be a rare chance to see a bunch of them at once!  We're leaving early Thurs. morning.  :)

  • 1. 36w today...being induced on Sunday!  Feeling great except for the crazy insane swelling in my feet, espeically my right.  Oh and I'm flat wore out from moving and cooking a kid :-)

    2. I'm a big fan of crockpot lasagna.  Sorry though, the recipe is at home :-(

    3. Tomorrow is my last day at work, although I wish I would have taken all dang week off.  My parents are coming in Sunday afternoon, staying until Friday, so I'm super excited.  Kinda hate having to waste half of their trip being in the hospital though :-(

  • 1. Where and how? CD17. I believe I'm 1DPO. Feeling a little crummy about our timing this month since we didn't do it yesterday. We are both just exhausted from traveling. Boo. I feel good, though, just tired. I'm not ready to jump back into reality - at all!

    2. LIP or share your fave crock pot recipe... I didn't use the crockpot too often at our old house but Abe makes a killer venison roast. Yum, yum. I'd ask him how he does it but he's not here! We're definitely going to have to use it more often once we get into the new house and especially when/if we have a little one to care for.

    3. Post a random thought or open letter! Hmmm. I really, really, really missed Teddy while we were gone. Like, really. I wanted to cry when we left and when we came back and got him. I wonder how we're ever going to take a vacation just to the two of us after we have children. I'll be a mess. It's pathetic.

  • 1. Last day of AF was yesterday.  I'm feeling pretty good!

    2. This buffalo chicken lasagna is one of my favorites: https://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2008/10/crockpot-buffalo-chicken-lasagna-recipe.html

     3. I'm so glad this weekend is over - almost done with neighborhood treasurer duties!  Also I'm kind of nervous about starting my half-marathon training!

  • 1. Um...I think I'm around CD 24. I've gotten way off since stopping the patch. Which means that AF is coming, though I've got no symptoms thus far. 2. I love chicken tortilla soup and chicken paprikash. Chicken Paprikash is thighs and legs deskinned and in the bottom, then mix a can of cream of chicken or mushroom with 3 tablespoons paprika and pour over the chicken. Cook on low for 7-8 hours. Remove the chicken and whisk into the broth 1/2 C. sour cream. Serve with the broth on top. It's great with green beans and either rice or mashed potatoes. Yum! 3. I staying at a friend's house this week and it's super cold in here! I've not yet turned on my a/c and the house is set on 70. I'm freezing. I just want to go sleep outside where it's not even all that warm today.
  • 1. Where and how?
32w pg - other than work related pains (see open letter below), feeling good!

    2. LIP or share your fave crock pot recipe...
I've tried a half a dozen times to use the crockpot I received as a shower gift.  I burn everything.  Soo...no recipe here.

    3. Post a random thought or open letter!
Dear current client in town for a program -
I think you're all fabulous and I love meeting people from around the world.  However, I'm 32w pg and not really in the mood, nor have the physical body strength or endurance to put up with your constantly changing minds.  I'm worn out and you've technically only been in the program for 24 hours.  I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of excited that you're only here for a few days.

    Best,
    Your Smiling-on-the-outside-but-seething-on-the-inside-Program-Manager

    3. My boss mentioned maternity leave the other day and how 30 days will seem like a long time when I'm gone.  I hated to break the news to him, but it hasn't been THAT long since someone in his family had a baby, LOL.
