I was so bummed when I realized we wouldn't be able to take the hike you suggested.

 

Immediately after arriving in Seward, we were whisked off the boat and bused up to Anchorage. Obviously, we didn't have any time to explore Seward or take the hike you suggested. 

 

As we were leaving town, we passed the sign for Exit Glacier. I totally wanted to cry. 

 

Next time! Thanks for the suggestion, anyhow

booooooooooooo!  next time you go, you need to just go on your own.  cruises are cool, but there's so much more to see than just that.

I think we're probably going to fly in and rent a small RV of some type, next time. It may be a while, though, depending on how TTC goes.

 

Anyhow, I LOVED the cruise. It was super relaxing and I think it prevented us from going over-the-top crazy with over-exerting ourselves.

 

I definitely would have loved more time on-shore to explore the "real" Alaska, though. 

 

We are making it a point to travel up there more. We would love to go backpacking/camping up there some time when we have more than a week for vacation. I'm already looking forward to it.
