I bought a few different bottles to see if there were any Ellie might take a liking to, and she did drink from the Playtex bottle that you use with drop-ins (of course...the most expensive and least eco-friendly option!). She refused it when I offered it again later, but maybe that's just because it was bedtime and she really wanted to nurse. Anyway, are you supposed to throw away the drop-ins every time you use one?! That seems so wasteful and pricey...or are they OK to wash and reuse? Even if that's not what you're "supposed" to do, I think I might do it anyway...
Re: Are Playtex drop-ins reusable?
LOL! I wash and reuse Ziploc bags all the time. Not if they had meat or something in them, but I think it's silly to throw them away because they had some crackers or something in them.

You and my mom! Ick! I prefer to use different containers, like ball freezer jars, which work great for snacks and don't leak. If I have to use a baggie, it is going in the trash when I am done :-)
I washed them in a pinch. I hated the wastefulness, but didn't want DD getting sick because of them being thoroughly clean.
Anyway, I have read that you CANNOT boil the bags. So I thought I'd pass that along.
My concern would be that the washing would cause the plastic to break down and contaminate the milk. But I am totally pulling that out of nowhere. It's probably not true.
Both of mine take/took Dr. Browns pretty well. Well - Sara takes it under major protest but it's the best of the bad lot.
Huh. I can see the point about the plastic possibly deteriorating or something, but I don't see how the liners are any more or less sterile than a reusable plastic bottle that's been washed in the same manner. I didn't know the nipples fit some brands of regular bottles, though, so maybe we'll get some of those and avoid the drop-in dilemma altogether!
