How did you fix bad lighting?

We live in a fairly new house, but we didn't do much with the last bedroom because we're military and know we'll move in a couple years. However,  the lighting in there is awful.  There's a ceiling fan with lights, but short of replacing the fan (it gets HOT here), what can we do to add good lighting?  We just finished painting, and the colors look drab and dark in artificial light.

Especially if you had poor lighting in your nursery, how else did you fix that issue? I plan to get a table lamp for reading, but that won't help the whole room. TIA!

Re: How did you fix bad lighting?

  • I can only think of some floor lamps (behind furniture so LO cant get to it). GL w/ that whole situation.
  • Loading the player...
  • aside from a floor lamp get a ceiling fan with a light in it......
  • if you just don't like the way the color looks with the light, try putting GE reveal bulbs in the room. I have them in every room of our house, even the bathroom! They really bring out the colors in everything
