Indiana Babies

s/o on CD question below

I'm in a similar situation to eclaires - I'm motivated by environmental/sustainable/local economy factors and DH is motivated by savings (I like savings too, but I'll pay a bit more if it means I'm helping local peeps or the environment).

Since we won't be making this decision for a while but I am such a planner it's sick, I'd like to start bookmarking useful CD sites.

What are your favorite CD sites for either 1) educational info on benefits, costs, etc 2) buying new or 3) buying used (do ppl just use ebay or are there other places?)

Re: s/o on CD question below

  • For some "CD 101" info, I like Pin Stripes and Polka Dots but there are tons of good sites with similar info. The EFF Board is really helpful, too.

I've never really heard of people having success buying used on ebay, but maybe I've missed out. Diaper Swappers is pretty popular for used dipes.

For buying new, I really like Abby's Lane because they have free shipping and a big selection. I also really like Modern Diapers, Kelly's Closet, and Moms Milk.

    Have fun!

  • Ditto all that, especially lurking over on EFF.

A couple other places that are good to buy new-- diapers.com ($10 off $50 purchase for first time customers), cottonbabies.com, Etsy, Hyena Cart.

For used also check Spots Corner on Hyena Cart.  I find it much less intimidating than Diaper Swappers.

  • You actually can't buy used dipes on ebay, it falls under their "no used underwear" policy.  Sometimes you can get good deals on new ones though if someone got them and never intended to use them.

I like diaperswappers and stalk it almost daily - I've gotten some absolute steals that way.
