The name "Jane" do you like it?

I have always loved the name Jane.  It seems along the lines of classic, IMHO.

WDYT?

  • LOVE the name Jane. One of the girls in my mothers group named her little girl

    Jane Louise.

  • It's okay. It's not a name I would use, but I don't hate it.

  • NMS. I love most classic names (as you can see from my kids' names below) but that one I just don't like.   I always think of the saying "plain Jane" when I hear that name.  Plus DH has a "crazy aunt Jane" who is just that, so that doesn't make me like the name any more!!
  • I think it is very pretty. The only reason why I wouldn't use it is because dd is Giada Sophia so I couldn't have one very different name and then another kid name simply Jane. KWIM.
  • I like it, too! I really like the NN Janie/Janey for a little girl. Why are you asking??? Hmmmm??? Did the SSLNN boink-athon water reach you up there in Canada?

LOL!  No, I wish=P  DH isn't aboard the having a 3rd baby train.

  • I LOVE it!  Very classic and feminine and Janie is such a cute nickname.  Not as good as "Kate" though :)

I love it!  We tossed it around as a middle name for DD.  If we ever have another girl, I love the name Elizabeth Jane.
    DD #1 - 01.08
    DD #2 - 03.13

    haha!

    I don't think so=(  Unless, I can convince DH.

  • Love it.  It's my sister's name (I'm a Kate, lol), I'd love to name a kid after her, but it doesn't work with my married surname at all.  We definitely did tease her with "plain jane" when we were kids...since she's anything but plain (gorgeous and the only one of us 6 kids with bright red hair) so it was more ironic than hurtful.
  • No, an aunt has ruined all association of this name for me.
  • I love it!  I wanted to use it, but DH felt that with our plain, common last name it would make for a boring name.

ooo my DD is Kate and I would totally use Jane, too.

  • I think it's a lovely name.  But I'm an Elizabeth, so I'm all about the classic girl names.

I'm currently in love with the name Marjorie but my husband hates it.  I wonder if he'd like Jane... he also hates Agnes and a ton of other "old lady" names [his term not mine].  And no, I'm not pregnant, I just like baby names.  ;)

love, love, love the name Elizabeth, too. I think that I like the spelling, Elisabeth, as well. Pretty name=)

  • Sigh...it's one of my absolute favorite girl names ever. I considered it for dd but my dh was not a fan.And OMFG,Pin! Jane Louise! Love, love, love, love, love it! Goes well with Anna Pearl, don't you think? Hmmm...
  • I obviously love it :)

I would have used it as a first name, but our last name is one syllable and I hate one syllable first names with one syllable last names. I think you should totally go for it. It's a classic for a reason!

  • We considered it as a mn if #2 was a girl. I think it's pretty and not super common.

  • Yep, I love it.  I love Maryjane even more if it weren't for the marijuana reference.
