If you had walking pneumonia please come in

I'm feeling alot better but today was rough breathing wise.  I am like out of breath alot with a little wheeze and had to use the inhaler twice.  Also I got a deep tickle deep in my chest thats making me cough but I'm not coughing up anything or loosening up anything.  I'm on day 3 of Zithromax.

I know I was on the go this morning and its very humid out....not sure if this had anything to do with it.  I know I didnt go anywhere yesterday and I felt great yesterday....not so much today.

should I be concerned?  I dont know because I never had anything like this before.

  • I've had pnuemonia since April 1st.  I've done the zpack, avelox and I'm on the second round of avelox.  I had to go by ambulance this weekend to the ER because I couldn't breathe and was making a whistling sound.  They did a breathing treatment and gave me proair and qvar to bring home.  I still feel like crap and went to the dr. yesterday and still wheezing but the xray said the pnuemonia was clearing.  So now I'm dealing with the wheezing with the inhalers.  I've never had anything like this before and I look like an old hag, lol.  I'm all dark circles and so tired/exhausted.  I hope that you feel better soon.
  • oh my goodness....what the heck am I complaining for?  I hope YOU feel better soon.

  • Well I did feel better the other day when I found out that I didn't have to pay the ambulance bill, lol.  Some ppl were telling me that they have gotten billed up to 1k for it and I was like oh, my. So that made me feel much better Big Smile  but my advice is to take it easy until your pnuemonia clears.  They originally told me 3 wks.  So drink a lot and rest up.  I do hope that you feel better and hope your dad is doing ok.
  • I was not as bad as the first poster.

I had it about 3.5 weeks ago.  I was put on 2 z-packs and was able to get rid of it.

The more you rest, the better you will feel.  if you over extend yourself it gets worse very very quickly!!!  I had been doing great, and I did not sleep last night, and tonight I can feel it in my chest.

I literally slept about 20 hours a day the first 3-4 days after being in the hospital.  then the next few days i was still sleeping about 15 hours a day.

    good luck.

  • I had penumonia the first time years ago when I was pg with my first DS.  It was terrible.  I had not had the pregnancy confirmed by the ob but I had done a test so knew I was pg.  I was about 2 months when I strated getting sick and it just got worse and worse until finally I went to a family doctor.  It had been month since my very first symptom.  He wouldn't give me anything because I was pg.  I called the ob because by that point I could hardly breathe and was wheezing terribly.  The ob took one listen to my chest and said I had pneumonia and before we do anything regarding the pregnancy we were going to get me better.  It has been so long ago that I don't remember what antibiotic they put me on...but remember reading that it was not that healthy for the fetus.  But...pneumonia itself wasn't good for the fetus either.  After a couple of weeks of antiotic and a vaporizor I was beginning to feel better.  I could actually get up and make a cup of tea and drink it before I felt like I needed to nap again.  lol  I returned to the ob and he said I sounded much better so they started all the pg testing.  Course my blood sugar was high (isnt' it always) and I had to take a 3 hour glucose.  So...with all that went on I was afraid there would be a problem with the baby...but he was and is fine.  I just remember to being very, very, extremely tired.  You need to rest as much as you possibly can.
