Indiana Babies

aw!!

I've been super busy for the past couple days and haven't really had a chance to post, but I had to share our good news...

DH is DONE with the military.  Completely finished.

WOOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Party!!!

I should add that it's been a fantastic experience for him and has given him so many opportunities in 8+ years.  However, after 2 deployments, missing important family/life events and the general disorder that it seemed to create, he's ready to be finished.  Particularly now with little babycakes on the way.

He had just finished a year of his master's program when he found out he was getting deployed.  When he got back last November he applied to law school at IUB and was admitted for this fall's class.  Since he already had a year of his master's program completed, he's doing the joint JD/MPA program.

So that was my long winded answer for currently unemployed (and bored out of his mind) and waiting for law school to start.

  • Awesome!!!!!  Awesome to be finished with his military duty and Awesome to be starting law school!!!!
  • YAY that he's safe and done and home at a fabulous time, and two thumbs up for starting a new program!  And a big fat "Thank You!" to him for his service!

  • aww that's great!!
  • Oh that's so exciting!!!

My brother just had his Ranger school graduation and while I am so proud of him, it still makes me incredibly nervous that this is what he does.

Although maybe you should  worry about law school, I hear that it sucks.  HA!  No really, law school, not that bad.  At all.  So don't let him tell you he can't take night duty.  ;)

Beth, that is SO awesome about your brother!  He's pretty much a badass now :)

And yeah, he's definitely not getting out of of those late nights.  I do feel a little bad for him though because his orientation literally starts like a week after my EDD.  Good timing on our part.

  • Kelley, that's such great news!  I bet it's nice to have peace of mind and control over where his career (and thus your lives) go from here on out.

We're currently struggling w/ the decision of whether to stay in (for career) or get out when his commitment is up in 2 years.  Such a huge decision that you can actually say will affect the rest of your lives ... congrats on making your decision & being happy with it!

  • Woohoo Kelley & Jake!  That's great news!

...And I will most likely be paging you soon about IUB since DH and I have tentatively added it to the list of schools we may visit this summer.

  • Congratulations!!!!!!!!  I can only imagine how much of a relief it is to know he won't ever be deployed again.
