My mom is totally baffled by the way things are done these days. She thought swaddling was the silliest thing ever and had NEVER heard of anyone not covering up the baby with a blanket in the crib when they go to bed. HELP! Has anyone come across a book specifically to help grandparents-to-be learn the new techniques to how differently things are done now?? My mom is reallllly hard-headed so I'm trying to think of a way to help show her, and pretty much, it needs to be written in a book for her to believe it! lol Thanks for your help!
Re: Good books to help grandma-to-be learn the new ways?
a book seems a bit passive aggressive and then you are counting on her to read it
Cant you just say this is how we do things? and explain why when you tell her?
Oooohh yes this sounds like my mother. It baffled her that you don't put babies to sleep on their tummies. If it's not the way she did it, then it's wrong.
I like the idea of taking her to a class with you at the hospital.
ditto this...your baby, your rules...if she doesn't like them or thinks they are silly because she didn't do them with her kids...then she doesn't get to babysit....
