Okay, anyone see what the result of a black haired and a red haired parent produced? My DH has black hair and I have red hair. DH's parents had black and brown hair, my dad had dark blonde w/ red beard (yes weird) and my mom with dark brown.
My cousin has red hair, and her DH with black hair and they produced a strawberry blonde haired baby.
I'm curious to here what other babies of red and black haired parents popped out to be.
Re: Red & black hair genes....?
not exactly red and black....
but, my hair is black/dark brown (always has been even since birth) and dh's hair was strawberry blond, now lightish brown.
ds was born with strawberry blond hair, it all fell out and now he has the cutest blond hair...
~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

My IF blog
lol Im right there with you! My Fiance is african american, so he has black hair and I have white and have red hair.. soo everyone keeps saying what is your child going to look like. His Uncle had the same situation with his wife amd there son came out with light brown, blondeish hair and is gorgeous. So were hoping it looks more cute then interesting lol! oh and my dad has a red beard too with brown hair lol... so i understand!
Good luck with everything..
Its just the luck of draw of genes lol!
From what you described, your baby has a 75% chance of having dark hair, either brown or black, unless your DH has a recessive gene for having red hair, but it is unlikely as both his parents had dark hair as well.
My DH has black hair as well but mine is blond, so I guess we will find out when he gets here!
DH has a red haired cousin. the red haired cousin has a blonde haired wifey, and they produced a redhead. Hmmmm.... This has got to be one of the most exciting things I can't wait to see when DS pops out!
I have red hair. My dad is blond my mom has brown hair. My husband is Asian. He and his whole family have black hair.
Our DD has medium brown hair with a lot of red and blond highlights. In the summer it gets very light colored.
There are so many genes involved in hair and eye color that it is almost impossible to tell what the baby will have. And what we all learned in high school bio isn't even close to the way it really works.
I'm really interested to find out what our other children will look like. DD has almond shaped eyes but no one would say she looked part Asian unless they knew already. I wonder if people will be surprised to find that our children are siblings when they get older.
