I had one shower this past weekend and the big one is coming up this Sunday. Everyone that I see keeps telling me I don't have enough "big" stuff still on the registry...
Maybe I haven't thought of something that I could add on to give people some more options?
Re: What are the "big" items on your registry?

We bought a lot of the big items ourselves. People were SO generous with our wedding gifts (only over a year ago) i felt a little guilty asking for such expensive items.
We have 2 Carseats (the infant seat and a Britax convertable)
-Arms reach Co Sleeper
-A BOB jogger (my parents are getting us that though)
-A swing, bouncy and some play mats.

Also the breast pump is a "big" item, but I didn't put it on the registry because I think it's weird to ask people to buy me something that I'm going to use to remove a bodily fluid from my breasts!
We registered for our PNP, Swing, mattress, an activity gym and a baby bjorn active. We got the swing, mattress and baby bjorn as shower gifts. My mom and dad bought our crib for us and we bought the rest of the big stuff: stroller, carseat, dresser, glider, etc.
I didn't want to put all the other stuff on our registry because I didn't like "asking" for big things.

then there are like 3 things for $25-$50 range and everything else is under $25.
Carseat, pack n play, stroller, crib. And surprisingly, people have bought all but the crib. It's really only on there for the coupon, and so that people can give gift cards if they want to contribute to the cost.
You might be surprised at who spends more than expected.

We aren't expecting people to get these, I just wanted them on there for the completion coupon, although my father told me he got us the stages carseat.
we too had most of our stuff from my sister so there weren't many "big" items on the registry...
the few items we did include:
Medela breast pump
Dutailier glider and ottoman
Everything else was under $100; we only put on the necessities. If you plan to buy anything big though, I'd add it just b/c you can use your completion coupon on it if it's on your registry! I wouldn't add things just to make others happy - they know where you're registered, they can find something cute that they like (clothes, blankets, etc) or useful that they used a lot as a new mom! Plus, it will dilute your registry and you'll end up making a ton of exchanges for the things that you do really want...
I had a girlfriend balk at the idea of buying me Dreft b/c that's all that was left when she went shopping, but honestly, that was the most useful of the gifts!
My "big" items were a Snap and Go, grocery cart cover, monitor, and umbrella style stroller, breast pump, and co-sleeper.
