3rd Trimester

What are the "big" items on your registry?

I had one shower this past weekend and the big one is coming up this Sunday. Everyone that I see keeps telling me I don't have enough "big" stuff still on the registry...

Maybe I haven't thought of something that I could add on to give people some more options?

Re: What are the "big" items on your registry?

  • I got the same comment! People do not realize I am already getting a lot of things used from my SIL. I got so annoyed that I added a papasan cradle swing on my registry even though it's the last thing I want.  Everything on my registry are NECESSITIES.

  • We had the pnp, video monitor, high chair, swing and would've had the travel system had my parents not bought it (it's their gift to all their grandchildren). I can't think of any other large items unless you want really large like nursery furniture, glider, accessories, etc..

  • Our Breast pump is the only "Big" item still remaining, everything else we have pretty much gotten, I am planning on adding more things after my last shower this weekend such as diapers and little things like that, that DH and I can get with the completion coupon.
  • We didn't really put the "big" items on our registry. The two biggest things we did put on there were an exersaucer and an activity mat (about 70-60 dollars each). And those two things were not even purchased!

My biggest ($$$) is the pack n play, followed by my bedding and carseat. My parents bought us our crib and ILs bought us our stroller & swing.

  • For big stuff I had: highchair, carseat (convertible one), toy box, and monitor.  I was extremely lucky that my family bought my crib, dresser, rocking chair, and travel system for me.  But I'd recommend putting those on as well if you don't already have them.
  • We put our swing, bouncer, playmat, pack'n'play, carseat, and stroller frame on our registry. We ended up getting all of them at our showers which I didn't expect at all. I had just put them on there so I could use the registry completion coupon to buy them.
  • Car seat, PNP, stroller, swing, monitor...all of which we were lucky enough to receive

  • car seat

    jumparoo

    swing

    pack n play

  • We bought a lot of the big items ourselves. People were SO generous with our wedding gifts (only over a year ago) i felt a little guilty asking for such expensive items.

We have 2 Carseats (the infant seat and a Britax convertable)

    -Arms reach Co Sleeper

-A  BOB jogger (my parents are getting us that though)

-A swing, bouncy and some play mats.

  • breast pump, BOB Revolution stroller, video camera, PNP, car seat - and we've received everything - soooo lucky:)
  • The biggest things on ours are our pack & play (which is a really basic one - $70) and a swing (also $70). Everything else is little. We already bought the rest of the big stuff ourselves.
  • We bought all of the "big" ticket items that we had on our registry like the travel system, baby swing, exec..... after I had my shower. FYI--it seems that not many people buy off the registry. I still have a few things on their since I am having a second shower on Sunday--like the jogging stroller and baby bouncer but I am not expecting people to get these.

  • Bouncy/vibrating chair

    Swing

    Carseat

    Stroller

    Highchair

    Arms Reach Co Sleeper

Also the breast pump is a "big" item, but I didn't put it on the registry because I think it's weird to ask people to buy me something that I'm going to use to remove a bodily fluid from my breasts!

  • We registered for our PNP, Swing, mattress, an activity gym and a baby bjorn active. We got the swing, mattress and baby bjorn as shower gifts.  My mom and dad bought our crib for us and we bought the rest of the big stuff: stroller, carseat, dresser, glider, etc.

I didn't want to put all the other stuff on our registry because I didn't like "asking" for big things.

  • PNP, bassinet, extra car seat base, monitor
  • we had the breast pump and swing on our registry we recieved both at the shower this last weekend.  All the other big stuff we have gotton used so we didn't have it on the registry.

  • Swing

    Pack n play

    Diaper bag

    Pump

then there are like 3 things for  $25-$50 range and everything else is under $25.

  • Carseat, pack n play, stroller, crib. And surprisingly, people have bought all but the crib. It's really only on there for the coupon, and so that people can give gift cards if they want to contribute to the cost.

You might be surprised at who spends more than expected.

Um, yeah. The Bump be too crazy for pics of my kid.
  • Are you planning on baby wearing?  We bought a Beco Butterfly II which I love... I'm excited for baby wearing.  They run ~$100 so I consider them big ticket.
  • carseat, infant and stages carseat/booster

    stroller

    pack n play

    swing

We aren't expecting people to get these, I just wanted them on there for the completion coupon, although my father told me he got us the stages carseat.

  • we too had most of our stuff from my sister so there weren't many "big" items on the registry...

the few items we did include:

    Medela breast pump
    Dutailier glider and ottoman

Everything else was under $100; we only put on the necessities.  If you plan to buy anything big though, I'd add it just b/c you can use your completion coupon on it if it's on your registry!  I wouldn't add things just to make others happy - they know where you're registered, they can find something cute that they like (clothes, blankets, etc) or useful that they used a lot as a new mom!  Plus, it will dilute your registry and you'll end up making a ton of exchanges for the things that you do really want...

I had a girlfriend balk at the idea of buying me Dreft b/c that's all that was left when she went shopping, but honestly, that was the most useful of the gifts!

  • Breast pump (although I don't expect anyone to get this... I want to use my completion coupon when I buy it), Pack n Play, glider & ottoman, swing, crib set, and high chair, in that order highest to lowest.
  • My "big" items were a Snap and Go, grocery cart cover, monitor, and umbrella style stroller, breast pump, and co-sleeper.
