DH bought me a doppler last weekend and I'm having a hard time finding both heartbeats. ?I've only been able to hear both of them once. ?Most of the time I can hear one....that's it....
I actually just had a doppler used on me for the first time on Sat night by the nurse at L&D (I've had so many U/S that they've just never done a doppler before). She found baby As hb right away (he hangs out down low by the cervix), but it took quite a while to get baby Bs b/c he was moving around so much! She would get a faint hb and then had to go all around the upper part of my belly to find it again. Then when she went back to actually measure it, he was completely somewhere else! So, I wouldn't worry if I were you...they still have a lot of room in there!
I don't own a doppler but the one that my midwife used on me was hard to detect both (she finally got them both after awhile!). She said not to be worried/let down if she couldn't get both as they can move a lot and/or it is difficult based on how they are positioned inside you. She said they work better for singletons as it's common not always being able to detect both. HTH
Re: Doppler question
Sometimes the hbs can be so close that you might be picking them both up. This happend at my last dr appt so they just did an u/s.
