my appt yesterday

So we had our 34 wk appt yesterday. Baby girl's heart beat was good. It was right in the 150 range. My blood pressure was down, no protein in urine and my weight stayed about the same. So apparently this staying off work thing is really helping. :) Her head is still up in my ribs and she's tight up there. Dr said to set up u/s for 2 wks (between wks 36 & 37) and if she's still not turned by then (which she still says she doesn't think is going to happen) then we have to set up to get a c-section. She said she'll probably take her out early too if this is the case. 'Cause she's in the 63rd percentile as far as growth and weight which 50 I guess is average so she's a little bigger than she should be. So...in about 4 wks, I'll possibly be an outside mommy. Crazy times. How is everyone else doing? Any fun stories?

Glad to hear that you are feeling better!  I remember how uncomfortable and anxious those last weeks can be, though I never had gallbladder issues - that sounds awful!  Enjoy the time off work and relax!  You deserve it!

I don't really have any funny stories for you to pass the time.  I will say that girls are so much fun!  My DD's personality grows exponentially each day and it is so exciting to see what traits she is getting from me and from DH.  It also melts my heart when I see DH and DD interact with one another.  They love to do puzzles and dance.  I just like to sit back and watch this grown man get wrapped around her tiny finger!

  • I can't wait for those days. I know that DH is going to be all mush when she gets here. He'll be scared but he is going to love her like he's never loved before. :)

  • Oh - congrats! What good news at this visit. I'll keep my fingers crossed that she turns.

No funny stories here, sorry! No baby either. DH and I decided to try to use this waiting time as a "babymoon" though, which makes the waiting less painful. I have my doc apt this afternoon - hoping that I catch some of your good luck and have some good news, too. :: Please be dilated more than 1 cm... please be dilated more than 1 cm... ::

I can't wait for this part!  Makes me tear up just reading it!  Can't wait to catch my computer geeky husband to talk computer stuff or teach little August how to do geeky stuff like him!  The loves of my life!

I am so glad everything is sounding well!  YEAH FOR BABIES!

  • Hopefully, you don't have to have a C-section... but if you do ... I highly recommend you buy some old school Cotton Women's Hanes Briefs.  They'll come up high over your belly and not dig in anywhere near your incision site and way better and more comfy than those mesh hospital underwear they give you that can get caught on the staples, and since you won't bleed like a regular birth, take some thin pads to catch the excess bleeding so you don't have to use the 3 inch thick ones at the hospital.  I had to send my dad out to buy me these things, and once I got them I felt so much better.
