OMG, I just saw a flyer for this in my MW's office today. I have no idea what it's about, and the flyer was for a class on it, but I just thought it was crazy!

Clicky, for the lazy like me. If it doesn't show up blue when you C&P it, you can usually put the cursor right at the end of the link, then hit space, and that works. Or, erase and retype the last letter, then hit space and it should work.
Ok, that said, now I have to go check out this link and will report back with my humble opinion... though just the thought of having an orgasm during birth kinda wigs me out. Having an orgasm to get pregnant= ok. Having an orgasm while pushing out a baby= WTF!
I've heard of this happening, but I didn't think you could really "learn" how to do it. From what I've read you just have to be super relaxed and comfortable, and then just kind of "lucky."
I personally am not sure I'd want to be having an orgasm in front of everyone present at the birth. To each their own, lol.
I have not yet seen the movie. A natural mothering group by me has had screenings of it, I could just never make it. I watched the link you posted and it seems interesting, I think I will check it out.
I just read Labor of Love, A Midwife's Memoir. The author is a midwife that is in the movie, The business of being born. I enjoyed the book, I wish I had the guts to have a home birth, it sounds really special.
Thanks for the clicky help. I don't think I would be comfortable having an orgasm in front of everyone either and it sounds like comfort is the name of the game.?
I must go watch this for myself but I have to say if I have an orgasm pushing out my precious baby girl I'd feel like the world's biggest pervert...now I will go watch

This. But to be honest with you, I'd rather have the O and not be in agonizing pain. Plus, what a MEMORY you and the rest of the L&D team will have about the birth of your kid! LMAO!
I didn't open the link but I know that a lot of the time when they talk about orgasmic birth they aren't necessarily saying "have an orgasm during childbirth" they are more trying to convey the idea that childbirth can be a pleasurable experience

These women are saying it is no different than a sexual orgasm.?
I'm a lurker, but felt compelled to post as a woman who has given birth. My epidural did not take with my son, and I can tell you that in my experience, labor is the furthest thing from orgasmic EVER. That being said, everyone has a different experience, some better than others, but I have to agree with the PP in that these women are probably just lucky...or masochistic. Plus, my hooha never tore with sex, so, not sure how they factor that pain in.

No...this chick really DID have an orgasm during child birth!!! It was weird!

If I never planned on giving birth in the same hospital again I might be tempted to strive to become "Orgasm Girl" lol!

Not everybody tears in childbirth.
I absolutely believe in orgasmic childbirth....but don't see how it could ever happen in a hospital.
True, not everyone tears or has an episiotomy. However, based on my own experience and from what most people have told me of theirs, it would not have mattered if I were laboring in a hospital or in my own bathtub...it still would have hurt like a mother. Again, every woman is built differently, and I'm not saying it isn't possible...just that they are very lucky that they were able to experience labor in that way. Most women probably have some level of pain associated with labor, though.
HA!! I understand this could happen for some people but I really don't think I would even want this if it was possible.
Does anyone else find it weird... some kind of oedipal complex reversed....? Your child is the cause of your orgasm as it comes out the birth canal in the same way a man's genital goes in ::shock:: Did you catch that Dr, "it is stimulating the same organs and?muscles?as a man's penis would do in sex..."
The only person I want being the cause of my orgasm is my DH! and it will always be a private event!!!?

Heard it mentioned on a TLC show... hubby was al for trying it out but I am sooo not believing that one! ?But hey, what ever works for other ladies right!?!
My friend actually mailed me the movie, along w/ a baby gift. I watched it--defiantly wouldn't want to do that in front of other people! She was the only one in the movie that was really 'wow'. DH said he didn't want to see it, don't blame him.

Sorry. This is pretty freaking weird. There is no way I would want to orgasm while giving birth. I would feel like the world's biggest pervert. I'll pass.

Unless your into like S&M and fisting and such I cant imagine pushing a big arse baby out of your vagina would feel good.
I had a c-section last time, so I cant be sure, but something tells me no matter how hard you try this will never be like an orgasim.
