I came across this name and kind of like it....or spelled Branson...not sure which I like better. It's a place name like DD's - what do you think? I haven't heard of it. MN Everett or Michael. Last name starts with T.
Ummm, I like the name, but I would automatically associate it with the town in MO. I have been there several times (went to college only 45 min away from there), and it is a CHEESY place. Lots of weird shows and retired people. Dolly Parton has a show there....And that's probably one of the most normal shows in Branson.
If you don't live in the Midwest and no one around you would associate the name with that place, I'd go for it. Good luck deciding!
as in Branson Missouri? I'd have to say no. However I've heard names I dislike a lot more.
I actually found it listed in Colorado.....didn't think of Missouri.
The one is Missouri is much better known than any other Branson. And it's like Gatlinburg--many associate it as a Hillbilly Heaven kind of place. If you wouldn't name your kid Dollywood or Pigeon Forge, I'd probably steer clear of Branson.
I think it's really cute (I love place names though). And it goes really well with big sister's name: Albany and Branson (I like the -son ending because he is a son. LOL). I think I prefer Branson Michael to Branson Everett, but really like both versions. Go for it!
I've never heard of Bransen/son Missouri or Colorado. This name is nms, but I actually kinda like it! I like place names. I think it would fit with your dd's name well.?

Although I like Branson as a name - it's rather masculine - I would always automatically think of the MO town and the cheesy bustrips my older aunts like to to take there to see Wayne Newton and the like. As long as it wouldn't bother you, go for it!
i'm all for pretty place names but branson is not a place with which i'd want to be associated for my entire life. i would DEFINITELY go with the -on real spelling if you do use the name. bransen is awful.
what about london (i like it for a boy even though i know a couple of girls with the name) or phoenix?
oh and i like everett for the mn.

I would have to agree. The only times I've heard this name used were referring to the city in MO and a friend of mine's last name is Branson.
However, I don't think it's too bizarre to use as a first name. Maybe with Michael?

This, sorry.

this.
1.) Your siggy is overwhelmingly large. Please consider reducing.
2.) I also think of nothing but the cheese-factory white trash hole known as Branson.
3.) It will often get confused and mispronounced as "Brandon".

I think it's kinda cute! I prefer Branson or Bransen tho..
I names my DS Carson and I either get the, Like Kitt Carson (old people) or Like Carson City (middle aged people) or like Carson Daley (my age people)
lol people are always going to associate names with places/people they know.. so just go with it!!
1. I didn't know there was a length requirement for siggy's and no I won't reduce it.
No I wouldn't name my child that but than again I am ffrom Missouri.
Branson Missouri is a hillbilly heaven. I automatically think of toothless people in overalls playing the jug.
Ha ha - no I have never been but from this posting I've gathered it's not the greatest place:) Thanks for the input!
Had I not known a strange guy named Branson, I think I would like it a lot. DH is Brandon, so I even considered it for that reason.
No no no no no.
I'm from the show me state
and to us Branson (which is partially what Missouri is famous for) is tacky, cheap, redneck and gawdy.
Like the hillbilly version of Las Vegas with washed up actors and singers.
I beg you not to name a child this.
