Jo Frost's Confident Baby Care
It's a guide for prepping for baby and the first year. Great info and not as boring/long as What to Expect the First Year. She gives really great anecdotal tips and gets the point across a lot quicker.
Even though the book is geared toward parents who are pregnant, it does devote a chapter at the end to Adoption where she acknowledges that the book is written that way but can be adapted. She addresses different adoptive situations and issues that may come up.
Obviously not a necessary read for adoptive parents, but for those who were asking about prepping for baby, it's a very nice read and it's nice that she included adoptive parents.
Re: A book I'm really enjoying
Thanks for posting this. I have been thinking about buying it but I haven't yet. I recently bought The Happiest Baby on the Block. I know there is a dvd that goes along with it, too, but I haven't seen it yet.
I am starting to re-read What to Expect the First Year, too.
Wendy -- I prefered the Happiest Baby on the Block book to the DVD. I actually sold the DVD on eBay. But I'm a reader and I retain things better when I read vs. watching.
Another one you might want to look into is Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child -- I learned so much in that one!
