STTN Questions

DS eats around 10 pm and goes down for the night until between 5-7 am.  The problem is he wakes up almost every two hours, fussing.  We've tried letting him fall back asleep, but if we don't go in and put the pacifier back in and tuck his blanket back around him, he does NOT go back to sleep and will fuss until we do.  He's done this since we weaned the 2 AM feeding a month ago when he was three mos.

He is drooling and chewing up a storm.  Could it be teething?  Or is he crying until he gets us to come to him?  any insight is appreciated!

Re: STTN Questions

  • At 3 months old he is not capable of manipulating you to come to him. Do you think he could actually be hungry? My DS definitely needed that feeding in the middle of the night to get him through at that age.

To me, I'd rather feed him at 2am rather than wake up every two hours to replace the paci. It could be his teeth too but I'd say he's probably just hungry. Good luck and hope it gets better!

  • I don't know- DS is a stinker and I'm sure he's working on having me wrapped around his finger :)  Thanks for the insight!

  • Yeah, I would say he's too young. They have many growth spurts before 6 months so if he cries, he may actually be hungry. My dd didn't start sleeping through the night until 2 weeks ago...yup...10 months old!
