Orbit Stroller

So one of my friends just told me about this awesome carrier/stroller that swivles so you don't have to hurt your back putting DD or DS into the carseat or stroller. Its pretty fancy and comes with a fancy price too but it's the kind of thing you could use with all your kids. I googled Orbit Strollers and it came right up. Anyone seen or used this? They don't carry it at Target or Baby R Us. I've never even heard of it till now.

Re: Orbit Stroller

  • I have seen it and it looks pretty crazy, especially the car seat base - we thought it looked like a spaceship!

  • They sell it at a local baby store near me. I think the thing looks absolutely ridiculous...I can see the advantage, however, of the swivel function. I will not be purchasing it because I personally don't like the look.

I'm pretty sure on the Orbit site they have a list of where it's sold across the U.S.

  • In all honesty, I think it is really unnecessarily pricey for what it is.

  • I've only seen celebs with them.  I would not be able to pay that pricetag!

  • Yes I have seen it and it looks pretty cool. ?The price is steep the guy told me after all the attachment it has to offer you can spend up to $1500. ?The stroller with car seat alone is $900 then the toddler seat is $220 the bassinet is $280 if you want that. Then they have more things to offer. ?He said if you have the money it is a really cool system. ?I bought a bugaboo Chamelon that is as much as I would spend on a stroller.
  • We looked at it, bugaboo, Uppa and a few others.  We ended up going w/ the Toro Micralite in the end - it has all the options that were important to us - many the same as the Orbit and not the price tage to match. :)
  • my sister has it. basically its ridiculously expensive (like $1000-1500 depending on options). The infant carrier part is HUGE - like it wouldnt fit in my car huge. So make sure itll fit in your car. The plus is that the base connects in like a circle so you can sit in and then turn it to latch it. I guess thats whats supposed to save your back? Im not really sure. Baby bargains gave it a pretty bad review if I remember correctly. I wasnt all that impressed by it.
  • We bought one. I've been in love with it since it came out and couldn't wait to have a baby to use with it. I think its a better deal than any Bugaboo as it comes with the carseat. It's easy to fold, compact and super safe. We bought the bassinet attachment as we will use it for the beginning. We are also planning to travel extensivly after baby is born. This system was designed to travel and we plan on getting the most out of it. I personally think the design and materials are worth the extra money, especially as it can grow with baby.
  • We got it and I love it!

Comes off the base so easily and you can turn the seat towards you if you are taking the baby out of the seat. (Actually on any base you can turn it any direction.)

The coooooooolest part by far is that the base folds up or unfolds with one hand super quick!

So far we have only gotten the starter infant system, but considering the stroller we were loking at was the vista and how much a nice car seat cost it ended up being the same kind of investment.

    I give it thumbs up!Yes

  • We're getting this stroller system. My DH and I really love it! It's light and folds up easily with one hand. I needed something that was light and compact and this was it. I also really liked how easily you can put the car seat into the base. It is alot of money but I figured that I would be using this will at least another child. The whole time we were looking at strollers, we couldn't agree on one (DH liked it but it was too heavy for me,etc) until we found the Orbit. We're getting ours from Buy Buy Baby.

  • DH and I thought we were going to get this stroller, until I felt how heavy the thing is. ?The base might be light, but the baby carrier is 11 pounds, add a baby into that and it was way too heavy for me.

    Good luck making your decision!?
