nbjenni or anyone that has a bumbleride

Hello! I am trying to decide between the bumbleride and the bob. I love the way the bumbleride looks so much better. I have heard on another board that the bumbleride is hard to maneuver....is this true? Any regrets getting the bumbleride? Anything that you love about it? Hate about it? Just trying to make the right decision before spending that kind of money on a stroller.

Thanks!

Jen

Re: nbjenni or anyone that has a bumbleride

  • I have a Bumbleride that I bought for my daughter. It IS very hard for me to maneuver - I eventually just got a Maclaren umbrelle stroller once she was big enough. I would probably not purchase the Bumbleride again unless they have improved it.
  • i was loooking at both the bR and the Bob at one point (but ended up with the Valco Trimode Twin b/c it has a toddler seat attachment that i needed).

I test drove the BR and loved it - not hard to maneuver at all. The fold was a little tricky- but i assume like with all strollers - you'd get the hang of it really fast.  The bob, while a great stroller, didn't thrill me for any particular reason.  The BJ City Elite (similar to the bob) did impress me with the quick and easy fold that it has.  But as you say- none are as pretty as the BR! :)

I haven't used my Valco yet- but do love it. A friend has the Valco single and loves it.

They are all great strollers- you really can't go wrong with any of them - it's just about preference.  They will all be big/heavy/bulky, etc - that's how double strollers (esp all-terrain types) go.

  • The Bumbleride Twin handles beautifully - I can seriously push it with one finger - and can't even do that with the Phil & Ted's. The only downside is that it is bulky, but so are most double strollers. It took me a few times to figure out the fold, but now I can do it in my sleep.

Ditto, I'm not sure why/how anyone would have a hard time maneuvering it.  I've taken mine on sand, rock, grass, etc and never had a hard time.  It is bulky, but all doubles are.

  • Bumbleride is absolutely not hard to?maneuver! I think it is actually much easier than a lot of single strollers! Ditto what nbjenni said about the fold, which is my only complaint about it!

  • I was SO impressed how easy it was to maneuver!  I have the '09 and it folds pretty compactly - I think even more so than our Graco Quattro Tour Duo.  We love love our BR.
  • Mine is about 5 1/2 years old - maybe they have improved it since then? :-) I have the *hardest* time turning mine around corners. Glad they are better now!!!
  • Do your babies sweat in it? My babies sweat in our quattro duo and it drives me crazy.
