oh great, my boss's kid has swine flu!

She's quarantined for a week.  This is too close for my comfort level.

    My sister had the swine flu a few weeks ago. Honestly, it wasn't any worse than any regular influenza.

    If you start feeling under the weather, run to your doctor, demand a test and get on tamiflu as soon as possible. It makes a world of difference (the tamiflu was awesome for my sis). Do the same if you suspect your kids are getting sick.

    There are a few cases at my niece's high school right now.

    while i'm not one to get worked up over the whole thing (as it's just the flu to me - all flus are bad)... I'm not happy that my son will be staying at my niece's house when i deliver- and that will be in the next 10 days... I worry about my babies (including my son) getting ANY flu right now.  It's one of the reasons I planned to have spring babies- to avoid flu/sick season.... now this.  it sucks.

    ohshit. ?Ditto pp about the Tamiflu. ?I took either rimantidine or amantidine (anti-influenza A med) once & it made a huge difference. ?These anti-virals have to be started w/in 24 hours of symptoms onset, so act fast if you start to feel bad.

    I'm usually not a freak about germs/being sick but my children have never been sick yet and I really don't want the swine flu to be the first thing they get.  We've made it through RSV unscathed and now we're faced with this. 

    I just have to be diligent about my handwashing at work and if I feel the slightest big sick I'm heading to my Dr.
