So, I'm at the hospital visiting my brother. He's sleeping, so we're hanging in the lobby where the wireless reception is better. But I've noticed a few weird things:
1. Here in EP, people take their kids EVERYWHERE. Even kinda inappropriate places. There are always at least 6 or 7 preschoolers running around the main lobby and ICU lobby because they aren't allowed in the patient ICU rooms. You also see kids at nice restaurants, bars and doctors offices (not pedi's) where in most other cities people would leave kids behind. I guess it goes to show that El Paso is a very family oriented city, but you can't go anywhere without someone's toddler or preschooler running around.
2. A surprising number of ICU nurses smoke. Maybe its the stress of the job, but you'd think with the number of people that they see in respiratory distress (like my brother was), they'd know better.
Thats it for now. I am going home soon... can't wait to see my little booger.
