Glow needs a vacay

I need to sit by a pool for 3 possibly 4 days and not have to talk to anyone.  I'm getting a touch homicidal. 

This is DH's busy season, so he can't take off for extended periods.  I don't want to spend a lot of money.

Is there somewhere good within driving distance of Chicago I can go shut down for awhile?

    Detroit?! You wanna "shut down"? Bad joke, I'm in Detroit. But we've got some great sights around here -- although the west side of the state closer to you has less busy-ness.

    How about Lake Michigan?  The summer DH and I got married we went to Indiana and stayed at this awesome B&B (I forget the name of it, but it started with a T I think?  Tyborn guest house?).  It's not a pool, but the B&B was awesome and we had fun at the lake.

    Traverse City (on the west side by the upper part of your pinky finger on a Michigan mitten) has wineries ... if that's what you're looking for. It's very nice up there, sand dunes, water, and some shopping.

    LG is like 45 minutes from door to door for me.  I just looked at the Grand Geneva's pricing.  Holy moly!  Not cheap.  Christmastime the prices are pretty decent.
