XP: Bringing DS to beach for 1st time - need tips!

I'm posting this on two boards because I need all the help I can get!  

DS hasn't been to the beach yet and we're bringing him there this weekend for the 1st time.  Do you have any tips on what to bring or do to keep him happy & busy?   Also, is there any kind of seat/chair that I can buy & have him sit in it for a bit (under the umbrella)??   He is so active that I'm a bit nervous that he's going to be running all over the place.....which usually doesn't faze me, but I don't want him to bother other beach-goers.

I wouldn't bother with the chair.  Just bring a blanket to sit on - chances are good the kid won't sit anyway LOL  Lots of sunscreen, easy snacks, water, an extra towel, hat if he'll wear one, bucket & shovel, a change of clothes/diapers, baby powder to help get the sand off when done.

Baby powder helps get sand off??   Who woulda thunk....thanks!!!!!!!
