Went to the doctor Monday....I gained 13lbs in the past TWO WEEKS! EEK! Usually I gain like 1 or 2 every two weeks. I freaked out when I saw it. My ankles have been so terribly swollen lately too...it's bad. So when she saw all that she told me I can do half days for the week and then next week I need to come see her again and I'm officially on leave. So Friday is my last day. That's so weird.....She just wants to be cautious. And I understand. I don't want anything bad to happen. Stupid "possible" preeclampsia.
Also, DD has been breach all pregnancy...well found out that from looking at u/s from Friday she is actually head up under my ribs and her legs folded up above her head. So she probably won't be able to turn herself and I'll have to get a c-section. I'm terrified.
Oh what a week this has been....

I had a c/s too, at it really wasn't bad at all, honestly. If mine had been scheduled in advance, it would have been much easier on me mentally.
Basic procedure: you walk or are rolled into the OR. Your DH has to wait outside while you are "prepped", it takes about 20 minutes? The room is really bright white, sterile. They have you sit on the bed, and then give you an epidural, or a spinal. I had the spinal and LOVED it, I couldn't feel a thing. Then you lay down and they raise a curtain right in front of your face, so you can't see anything. The anesthesiologist is now your new BFF, he will give you so many different meds, it's crazy. I felt really nauseous, and I told them, so they put some other drugs in my IV. Then DH comes in and sits right by your head, and they start the actual procedure. From when DH sat down until we heard the baby, was about 20 minutes. Then they give you the baby to hold, they clean her off, weigh her, etc, and that takes about 30 more minutes. Then they roll you into a "recovery room" and you're there for 1-3 hours, until you stabilize. Then you go into your normal room. They take your catheter out 12 hours later (I was terrified of this part) and it was just fine, didn't hurt a bit. Immediately after the catheter was out, I was moving around in my room, and I felt good enough to go for a walk around the hospital the next day. Just take all of your pain meds, and arrange to have someone help you around your house for the first 2 weeks, if you end up with a c/s, you won't be able to do anything except BF. Even getting off the couch is hard. MIL stayed with me and shewas a HUGE help, even doing laundry or washing dishes would have been too much for me to do the first few days.
So stay at home, put your feet up on your couch, and relax and enjoy these last few weeks! I'm sure that everything will be just fine, and in a short amount of time, you'll be holding your little baby!!
Wow - what a week!
Hopefully taking it easy will keep you healthy and comfortable. You still have some time for baby to turn. My doula recommends www.spinningbabies.com. May be worth a try?
