Infant seat instead of bouncer?

I'll probably wait for them to be here to see what actually works but, anyone just use their infant seats instead of a bouncer?  DS didn't seem to care about the vibrate feature.  I know other than car seats and cribs the rest is just extra convenience stuff, but has this worked for anyone else?  When DS was using all of that infant stuff it was everywhere, I can't imagine 2x as much.

Re: Infant seat instead of bouncer?

  • Do you mean the car seat instead of a bouncer?  I guess that would work.  Your house will quickly look like BRU ours does.  You could get 1 swing and 1 bouncer if you wanted that way you don't have 2 of each.  Or you could get a travel swing which doesn't take up as much space.

  • Our bouncers were a godsend for us.  We used them all the time.  I guess you could use car seats in place of them.  We started with 2 bouncers and 1 swing.  There are a lot of things you don't need doubles on, but our house looks like BRU blew up. :)
  • we have 2 swings and 2 bouncers..and honestly, it's my daughter's stuff that makes the house look like TRU threw up in our living room. The swings are side to side up against the wall, out of the way, and the bouncers are constantly being moved around, living room, our bedroom, their room. I don't think I'd want to use their car seats. They're heavier and take up more room. We have them in the corner in their room. If I had them in the living room, it would look a lot worse.
  • We use our 2 bouncy seats quite a bit. The boys don't like the carseats nearly as much and they LOVE being able to actually bounce (now that they're old enough to have figured that out ;)) and they also like the vibrate feature and the toybar. Ours are fairly small and cheap, simple Fisher-Price ones that were about $23 at Target. (One was given to us for free secondhand.) In the beginning we also used our two Boppys quite a bit--we used to feed the boys in those, now we use the bouncy seats.
