My best friend's name is Thessalonika.  We all call her Thess. Never met another one.

  • Is Thess pronounced like the name Tess? And is it a long "o" sound?

    Just curious how it sounds.

  • I believe it is Greek.

Thes is pronounced with the H like THief.  Thess-a-lonn-Ika.  Short o, long i sound.

  • I like the nn :) That definitely is a unique name.

Here are 2 more for you: Cassiopia (a girl I knew, went by Cass. And I probably spelled that wrong?). And my name is Sibylle..which people butcher all the time. Maybe my parents should have spelled it Sybil ;) I've only met one other girl w/ the same name, in college in my lecture class of 500.
