My D&C is tomorrow, my Dr. said today she though the process might start tonight though so she gave me some pain meds for the cramps. She said i would have really bad cramps, really heavy bleeding, and pass big blood clots. Cramps and bleeding havn't picked up but last time i went to bathroom i passed a pretty good size blood clot about the size of my pinky finger. thats not it is it? Will I pass a lot more blood clots? Thanks ladies i'm so lost in this whole process just kind of in a daze, i'm so glad this board is here you ladies have been wonderful so far!
Re: passing blood clots
I am so sorry that you are going through this.
When I started miscarrying before my D&C, I passed several large blood clots. I tried to look at them all (maybe TMI) to discern whether or not one of them was "it" but everything just looked like a clot. It's a horrible thing to go through. By the time, I got to the ER and they performed an ultrasound, they told me that there were no "products of conception" left in my uterus. So I had either passed it at home or maybe during the pelvic exam that the ER doc performed.
After that US, while I was stil in the hospital, I continued to pass even larger blood clots. One the size of a egg, sort of. It was just horrible. I am not sure how far along you were going to be - I was almost 12 weeks but the baby might have stopped growing early. There is a possibility that you may not really know when you actually miscarry.
I am so sorry. Please hang in there. ::hugs::

I agree that you probably have more to pass. I was 9 weeks, but baby measured only 6, and I passed at least 4 pretty big clots, plus a few smaller ones, and I'm not sure that I'm completely done yet. My cramping was really really bad, so I'd advise that you start taking those pain meds as soon as you start to cramp.
So sorry you're going through this.
*TMI alert*
I'm sorry you're going through this, I did have a D+C but the friday before ( mine was on monda) I was SO scared. I was at my inlaws and I had cramps worse then i could imagine. I felt like i had to poo, pee, and puke all at once and had no idea what to do. I was in the bathroom for about 1/2 an hour before dh came to find me near tears on the toilet. He got scared and was really worried for me.. He called the doc on call who said to give me a heating pad, that I was probably dialating. DH's mom is a nurse and she had some vicoden at the house, she gave me that which REALLY helped. I sat back on the toilet again once i was feeling better cuase i really felt i had to and passed several large clots. After that the bleeding subsided as wella s major cramping. The dr did still do D+C, said i was still dialated and had passed most of the tissue, however pathology reports showed there was still some tissue left . So I would still reccommend doing d+c even if you pass clots. It was the worst experience of my life ( the cramping and clots not the d+C) and I'm so sorry you're going through this now
