NGPR PSA: Bare Minerals alternative

I used to use BM religiously, but I got tired of paying $25 for foundation.  I use quite a bit (need extra coverage), and found that I was replacing it quite often.

So I tried another minerals brand, Everyday Minerals.  I love EM, even more than BE.  EM comes in four different finishes, so you can get customize the finish and coverage (BM only has one).  And, it's sooooo much cheaper than BM.  It comes out to like $6 for one (if you buy it in a set).

If you're tired of paying $25 for BM, try EM.  They even give free samples, and they are really generous with their samples.  You can order from their website, you just pay the shipping.

And I swear, I don't work for EM.  I know, I probably sound like I sell it or something.

Is it only available online?   I was looking at their website,  but they don't have a list of stores.   I'd like to try it first.

I think I will consider that when I run out of my BM foundation.  I was afraid to switch to a cheaper brand b/c I LOVE BM.

NM,  I see under their FAQs,  it says "Are their any stores where I can buy Everyday Minerals ? Not yet. We are an Internet-based company that sells direct to the consumer."

I think it's online only.

What I did (since I wasn't sure if it'd like it, and unsure about color) was order a sample kit (free, just pay shipping).  Actually, I ordered 2 sample kits on 2 separate occasions before I actually purchased anything.  The sample kits are great, because you get to choose 3 foundations, a blush, and a concealer.  I think I only paid like $3 for shipping.

I wish someone would have told me about this stuff earlier.  It would have saved me so much money over the years.

What finish do you use?

The "intensive" finish from EM is perfect for me.  I have oily skin, so the sheen from BM would make my face look icky and shiny.  EM doesn't do that to me.

So I I swear the one I ordered isn't on the website any more.  Figures, right?  I think the one I ordered and really liked was a "glow" foundation.  Does that sound familiar? MAybe it was just the sheen and they've renamed it (or I'm completey off on the name).  I have dry skin so I like the way the shimmery foundations make my face look, all dewy and sparkly.

Ohh, thanks for the tip too!  I've been wanting to update my makeup bag.  I don't have a lot but mostly because my foundation from BE is running low.  I'll check it out!  Wouldn't mind free samples! 

Edit:  bbjoys - I use light for BE, but did use some of SIL's medium in BE and that worked much better.  I looked at some of the EM base and saw sooo many choices. Wow!
