My first thought was Jee-ah-nah. Of your two pronunciations I like the first much better. To me it is one of those names that looks really pretty but doesn't sound as pretty.
I just saw the first one and never thought it would be pronounced like that; it seems that would be for "Johnna". I've just heard Gianna as: Jee-ann-ah or Jee-ah-nah, and was wondering if there were any other ways people might pronounce it.
I have a friend who named her daughter Gianna and she pronounces it Gi-ahn-nah

It's 3 syllables (Gee-ah-nuh) but because of how quickly Italians say it, it can sometimes come out sounding like John-uh. I noticed that when I was in Italy and heard people pronouncing names like Giovanni. Sometimes it sounds like Juh-vani when they say it.
Re: Gianna
This.
(to me, G-onna = Jee-ah-nah/Gee-ah-nah, yes 3 syllables)
