I loved my old neighbors, but sadly they got divorced and the house next door goes to settlement tomorrow. They are transplants from the other side of the state, so they probably aren't too familiar with the area.
I was thinking of baking them Brownies and then giving them a bunch of take-out menu's wrapped with a bow. Any other ideas??
Re: How to welcome a new neighbor?
Love your sigs!
I think your idea is lovely . ?When we bought our house, the old man next door came over to tell us he was used to peace and quiet and we better keep it that way. ?Lovely.
I think your idea is sweet.
When we moved in, I was pregnant with Preston and two of our neighbors came over with gifts for him. We did have a bbq/open house, but only one of our neighbors showed up (and a bunch of our friends of course), but now we exchange cookies at Christmas time with the older couple next door.
A potted flower or plant for the porch?
A map of the area & locate all the major stores on it & restaurants.
I know that this is going to sound super paranoid, but I wouldn't eat something a new neighbor brought to me before I knew them. But I think that the idea of the take out menus is good (even if you put little notes on them about what is good), a map with parks is a great idea too. Another thing that I would have LOVED is a map with the houses in the area and the names of the people that live there.
Even more important though would be to ust introduce yourself so they feel welcomed.
